All Aboard the Rocky Mountaineer

All Aboard!

Want a beautiful, relaxing and luxurious way to cross the Canadian Rockies? Want to watch for grizzly bears and elk while sipping on your chardonnay? Do you love seamless travel experiences where everything is organised and coordinated for you? Then the Rocky Mountaineer is for you.

This is one of the world’s most iconic train journeys and a true Bucket List travel experience. Dramatic scenery is viewed through the glass dome train carriages – the craggy peaks of the Rocky Mountains, icy glaciers, open prairies, glassy rivers, breathtaking gorges and waterfalls, and plenty of wildlife.

There are several different routes offered by Rocky Mountaineer, but the key thing to remember is that all train travel is through the day – of an evening you disembark and stay in a hotel before reboarding the train the next morning. Most journeys are 2 days/1 night in length and can be combined with coach touring, self drive journeys, extra nights’ accommodation or even an Alaskan cruise – the choice is yours.

Onboard you have the choice of Silver Leaf or Gold Leaf service. Regardless of which you opt for, three course meals, snacks and beverages are included in the fare.

My favourite part of the journey was hearing the wonderful commentary and anecdotes from the onboard hosts. They are informative, entertaining and passionate about this part of the world. They make sure that guests have the best experience that they can hope for.

Safe Travels,
