Number 2 – Kenya, East Africa
“You don’t get Africa until you have been there.”
Kenya is a travel destination that is not about amazing architecture, art galleries, fine dining, shopping meccas or sightseeing must-sees. You go there simply for the landscape, the animals and the people – experiencing God’s lands, largely untouched and organic.
You can drive down the same road four times and can have four different experiences depending on the time of day and the weather. It was constant surprise, excitement and anticipation of what we may see that kept me literally on the edge of my seat as we drove/bumped our way around Central Kenya and down to the Masai Mara.
Nothing can explain how I felt when I saw the first giraffe neck and head popping out from behind some trees, or being charged at by a bull elephant, or watching the majesty of the Mara unfold beneath us from the heights of a hot air balloon.
You don’t get Africa until you have been there.
