With two small children in tow, we opted for a 3 night stopover in Dubai en-route from Australia to Italy. Taking into account 1/ the heat, 2/ Ramadan and 3/ our children, we decided that Atlantis the Palm was the perfect spot to stay. Complete with an aquarium, an enormous water park, two swimming pools, nineteen places to eat and drink and a kids club, there was nothing more that we could have asked for during out stay.
Our days consisted of going for a swim, having something to eat, splashing around at Aquaventure, having something to eat, watching the fish and stingrays swim past, having something else to eat… it was the perfect way to start our holiday.
The other highlight was a trip to the Burj Khalifa – currently the world’s tallest tower – for a night-time view across Dubai. The lift speeds up 124 floors in 60 seconds – quite an experience!
At the end of three weeks away, I asked my seven year old what his highlight of the trip had been, and he said “Atlantis and the Burj Khalifa, easily!” Need not have bothered with the other two and a half weeks then…
